The Oakville Art Society, founded in 1965, is an independent self supporting organization of artists, sculptors and potters. ART IN THE PARK is one of several shows the Society organizes to provide opportunities for artists to display their work. Our first AiP in 1965 was conceived as an event to provide opportunities for up and coming artists, now in our 45th year this annual event draws more than 3 thousand visitors and participants from across Canada and around the world. The show features original work from over 150 artists with emphasis placed on painting, pottery, sculpture, woodworking and photography. Artists are chosen for their originality and command of their chosen medium. Art in the Park has grown steadily and has a very good reputation among artists throughout southwest Ontario as a quality show.
