The Oakville art Society
has been prominent in the local art scene since it's founding in 1965. The OAS
building contains a gallery shop and two large studios where the society
conducts on-going educational programs for all ages.
OAS is a self-supporting,
non-profit, unique organization that relies on hard working volunteers to keep
it running. The OAS members include professional working artists as well
as those who create for the sheer enjoyment of expressing themselves through
their artistic talents.
The newsletter, published
6 times a year will keep you informed of current events.
Each November a general
meeting is held to report to the members and to elect the Board of
Directors. We encourage members to attend and exercise the right to vote.
The OAS Gallery has
numerous private and group shows during the year. Members with a Gallery
Membership have the opportunity to display their work as a Feature Artist.
OAS has a Virtual Gallery
were work can be displayed for a small one-time fee. On-line work is limited to
5 items and will be updated 4 times a year. Members’ personal websites
can be added to our members’ links page.
Members can also make use
of the potting facilities outside of scheduled class times with a Studio
Membership.
